If you remember about 6 weeks ago I had a very bad but funny experience with Tom's Natural Deodorant. If you want a refresher on how that went, I have included the link to the post.
In that post I talked about why I made the switch to Natural Deodorant. It turns out, my pits were really itchy from using the Secret Deodorant. It also turns out that it is genetic because my dad has a lot of issues with deodorants really irritating his skin. Believe me when I say he has tried so many and finally found one that works for him.
So, I decided to try Native Deodorant at the suggestion of many lovely friends. I will say that Native for me, was a game changer! There are two types available for Native Deodorant, for sensitive skin and regular. I purchased a mix of both in different scents to see which scent i liked the most. The scent that I'm currently trying is Cotton and Lily and I really love it!
Before I get into the pros and cons of Native Deodorant, I will point out that every person's body chemistry is different so what works for me, may not work for you. Also, it takes about 2-4 weeks for your body to adjust to any natural deodorant or antiperspirant and you will go through the process of your pits sweating a lot. Something to keep in mind before making the switch.
Each Native Deodorant carries 2.65 ounces of product which is a little bit more than most deodorant brands and has ingredients that are vegan and natural but some people may be sensitive to them so be aware of the ingredients.
I went through the experience of the sweaty pits for two weeks and while unpleasant, especially in Miami summer, the deodorant worked exceptionally well for me. Personally it lasts me about 12 hours but by then, the odor has been masked and you don't really smell the cotton and lily any more. This is also dependent on the activities that you do during the day.
This deodorant does really last in terms of product since I'm halfway empty and I'm certain that I will be empty by the end of next month or beginning of August. With that being said, here are the pros of the product.
You get a little bit more product than most deodorants and the scent is very nice. It does last longer for me than most deodorants but again that is also dependent on your body chemistry. There are a variety of scents to choose and most of those scents are available for Sensitive Skin.
Some of the cons include the fact that while they have a lot of fun scents for you to choose from, they are seasonal. I personally feel that Cotton and Lily should be a permanent scent to their line, considering the fact that it has a nice, clean smell. It is also a bit expensive for deodorant but if you get the 3 pack or the Travel pack, you do save a little bit of money. Having said that, it is still expensive but so far, it has lasted me close to 2 months and I still have a little bit more to go, so you do get a lot of product and it does last a while. It is really good considering that I live in Miami and I use deodorant a lot due to the heat and humidity.
Overall, this product is fantastic! I already have other scents that I'm going to try after I finish the Cotton and Lily. I personally feel that despite its expense, the product is absolutely worth it.
I give this product 9 cotton and lilies out of 10
