Okay, this review may be a little TMI and a little gross but we do need to talk about something that people don't even think about. Our armpits.
Certain deodorants work better than others. Everyone's skin and body chemistry is very different, so mileage is going to vary on something like this. Also, just because something is natural, does not mean its going to be good for you because of allergies and skin sensitivity to certain ingredients. I used to use the Secret Clear Gel deodorant for YEARS and I had no problem with it, until now.
So you may ask, Maricruz, why are you switching to natural deodorant instead?
So the Secret deodorant I was using was causing my armpits to itch something terrible. Either Secret changed their formula and ingredients, I have become allergic and/or sensitive to some of the ingredients or both.
Yeah, kind of unpleasant.
So I figured I would try Tom's deodorant. I have heard good things about their products, so why the hell not? I deeply regret this particular life decision.
So, the smell is pleasant. I do love the smell of lavender. I tried it for about two to three weeks (the AVERAGE amount of time that it takes for your body to get used to a new deodorant). After two hours, my pits started smelling like onions. Very gross. I thought it was because it was my first time, but after my two to three week wear test passed, my armpits still smelled like onions after two hours. I had to reapply the stuff every two hours and it still wouldn't work! I also did a sweat test with it. It failed horribly.
I did a shower test with it. It was a massive fail.
This deodorant is a massive fail on all accounts. Will it work for someone else, probably. Your body chemistry is different from mine and it may work better for you. However, this did not work for me at all!
There are very few good things I can say about it; the scent of the deodorant is pleasant and it is cruelty free. This was an epic fail and I thought the Natasha Denona mini Lila eye shadow palette was bad!
This deodorant gets 2 onions out of 10.
Apologies to Ulysses, my poor husband, who had to deal with this with me.
