Huda Beauty has been getting a lot of hype from the beauty community and rightfully so. Her palettes are known for being pigmented, blend-able and soft. These days, there is another controversy brewing in which beauty lovers and bloggers are talking about. They are saying that the Neon Pink Palette is not safe for eye use.
Let me break it down, the palette itself are pressed pigments. Now, the FDA warns that the pressed pigments are not safe for eye use. However in Europe, they are perfectly safe for eye use. Keep in mind that the FDA guidelines have not been updated since the 2000's. So proceed with caution. I personally go with the European guidelines, mainly because they are the most up to date.
The shadows are pigmented and blend beautifully. There is little to no kickback which is fantastic for me and the shimmer shades are lovely. I did have an issue with the lilac shade on the bottom left corner. It's a lovely shade but it takes some time to build up to get a very nice look. A few other things to note; the packaging is very fun and bright, but one of my biggest issues with the palette is that there are no names underneath the palette. They are on the back. Since they are pressed pigments, there will be some slight staining on the eyes, so that's something to be aware of as well. If staining is a huge issue for you, this palette is a no go.
The glitter fallout is minimal and hardly noticeable but again if that is a huge problem, this palette is a hard pass for those who have issues with glitter.
Aside from that, this palette was a lot of fun for me to work with and it is absolutely perfect for folks with brown to hazel eyes and for those who want some fun, summer colors to wear. For the size of the pans that you get, $29 is a little expensive. Since it was on sale for $20, that price tag is more appropriate. However, Huda has been accused of ripping off ColourPop's Oo La La Palette.
If you are on a budget, the ColourPop Palette is just as good and for only $12.
This palette gets a 7.5 shades of pink out of 10
Huda Beuaty is not Vegan and not Cruelty Free
