If you've been wanting to learn how to work with a monochrome palette or a smoky eye, this palette is definitely a great start! This palette has a lot of things going for it. It has a nice balance of mattes, base shades, glitter and foil shades, excellent blend-ability, a nice size mirror, excellent price point and overall great pigmentation.
However, it has a few flaws; for example, Stone Face, a very light, gray base, does not have strong pigmentation, as you can see by the arm swatch I did (I swatched it twice); so you definitely have to pack it in a little more than the others, but it doesn't apply as patchy as some of the other shades in other palettes I have. Then again, this may also be an advantage for those of you who like to build up your colors, so mileage may vary on this one.
The glitter and foil shades, you definitely have to use your fingers to apply and blend a little, which for some people is a turn off; the kickback, though not as bad as the Natasha Denona Mini Lila Palette, is evident in Young Love (White Base), Stone Face (Very Light Gray Base), and Night Dream (Black with Purple and Pink Glitter), though, you may not hit pan as quickly as the Mini Lila palette.
All in all, this palette is excellent for beginners who want to learn how to do a glam, smoky eye look and play with monochromatic colors. It is super affordable too with the price point of $12 for 9 shades and decent sized pans!
This glam smokey eye palette gets an 8/10.
ETA: I forgot to mention that the foil and glitter shades do have a lot of fallout. That's one of the reasons why I had to knock two points from the palette. The other being the kickback and the fact that Stone Face is almost non-existent as a color. #notsponsored #colourpop #blowinsmoke #smokyeye
