If you recall the previous Sugarpill Cosmetics Review, I noted that their Fun Size Palette was fun but, it did have some shades that applied a little patchy. With the limited edition Little Twin Stars Palette, the formula has improved. At first glance, the packaging is adorable and wonderfully designed and the color story really fits the theme; But is it better than the Fun Size Palette?
Here are the shades in the palette:
Cloud Maker - Foiled silvery blue
Star Ribbon - Matte aqua
Twinkle, Twinkle - Foiled astral gold
Dream Dust - Frosted peachy nude with pink champagne duochrome
Sky Candy - Frosted baby pink
Wish - Sparkling copper
I did a swatch test with my fingers and brushes and the only shade that gave me some issues was Star Ribbon. I had to swatch it with finger and brush four times to get the color payoff that I wanted. Star Ribbon applies really patchy, but there is a caveat to this.
Blue eye shadows and I do not normally get along and I have always struggled with blue eye shadows. If you are like me with blue shades, then you will be pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful Star Ribbon really looks and how it blends with Sky Candy, to create a pretty lilac color as a transition shade. The other shades had a lovely color payoff with only needing two swipes of my fingers and brushes to get the pigmentation that I was looking for.
I used all six colors to achieve my look and it looked so beautiful. This palette has more of a pastel star feel to it than some of their other palettes and eye shadows in their product line. The shades also blend beautifully and seamlessly without any issues.
The only issues I had with the product was the fall out from the glitter shades and some of the kickup from the shimmer shades, Star Ribbon and Sky Candy.
The liquid lipstick duo was also lovely, especially the aqua shade, Kiki. When wearing Kiki, I felt like a lovely Mermaid. Lala is a beautiful, bubblegum pink that is flattering on a wide variety of skin tones. Kiki and Lala have gold glitter in them but Kiki has more of a sparkle, while Lala is more subtle with slight twinkle of gold. The liquid lipsticks dry down quickly and are not uncomfortable to wear. The packaging is very cute.
The only issue I had with both liquid lipsticks that they transfer a little bit, Kiki more so than Lala.
Was this product worth the full price when it debuted? Despite the quality of both products I was hesitant to pay full price because it was a little more expensive but that is also due to the licensing fees from Sanrio. However, now that they are on sale at an excellent price, these products are definitely worth the money.
If softer, pastel eye shadow palettes are your speed and bright, bold liquid lipstick duos appeal to you and/or if you are a huge Sanrio and/or Little Twin Stars Fan, these are great products to pick up, especially for the sale price. These items are Limited Edition so once it's gone, it's gone.
The Eye Shadow palette gets 8.5 out of 10 little twin stars.
The Liquid Lipstick Duo gets 7.5 out of 10 little twin stars.
