The Contenders:
Arishine Magnetic Eyelash and Eyeliner Kit: $22.85 at Amazon (I know they're evil, but for some people, this is their only option).
Ardell Magnetic Lash and Liner Kit: $15 at Ulta (The one that I bought is no longer available at Ulta. This is the closest I could find).
Moxie Lash Magnetic Lashes in Party and Dreamy: Both are $30 (I got the Party Lash for free). Available at Moxie Lash.
Moxie Lash Magnetic Gel Liner in Purple: $32, available at Moxie Lash.
Glamnetic Magnetic Eyelash Set (includes Ego, Virgo and Lush): Virgo and Lush are $29.99, Ego is $27.99. I purchased all three together to get 10% off as part of the Build Your Own Bundle Deal. Currently available at Glamnetic.
Not Cruelty Free
Not Vegan
Controversy(ies): None at the moment.
Disclaimer: I have yet to try Glamnetic's magnetic eyeliner. Once I do will update this review or do a separate one. Finances are very tight right now.
Back in February, I discovered magnetic lashes. In general, they are a game changer for me, because they are easier to apply and adjust and while the magnetic liner has a scent, it isn't as bad as the eyelash glue, at least for me personally. So, now that I have tried at least 4 brands, which ones have the best eyeliner, best lashes, best budget friendly quality lashes, best budget friendly eyeliner, and best overall. Let's a take a look at the top winners for each category and then talk about the brands that need to improve.
Best Lashes (Tie): Glamnetic and Moxie Lash
While both are on the expensive side, the quality is exceptional. They are not itchy, like the ones from Arishine and they hold together very well. Their only issue is the price.
Lashes That Need Improvement: Arishine
The set is an excellent beginner set, but the quality of the lashes is highly questionable. I had to throw a pair away after 3 months of use because the adhesive that was holding the magnets together, fell apart. They were also itchy for me.
Best Eyeliner: Moxie Lash Magnetic Gel Liner
This one comes with a caveat in that it is a little more expensive and does apply thick, so you have to smooth it out with a brush. Other than that, the lasting power is excellent and it is easy to remove. The purple gel liner does have red and gold micro glitter, so if you are extremely sensitive to glitter, get the black magnetic gel liner.
Eyeliner That Needs Improvement: Ardell
By far one of the worst magnetic liners I have ever used. The lasting power is awful and it is difficult to work with. Avoid this liner if you can. It is more affordable than the Moxie Lash and Glamnetic liner but if you are on a tight budget, spend a few more bucks for the Arishine Liner which is $9.97 at Amazon.
Best Budget Friendly Lashes: Ardell
The Ardell Lashes are a different story. The quality of their magnetic lashes is really good for the price! Better quality than the Arishine. If you are on a tight budget, go for Ardell.
Budget Friendly Lash Quality that Needs Improvement: Arishine
While Arishine has a good value, their quality needs a lot of improvement.
Best Budget Friendly Eyeliner: Arishine
Arishine's eyeliner does have a strong smell, but the quality is very decent. It is hard to remove since it tends to stay on your lids for a while, so you may have to use a little more makeup remover than normal.
Budget Friendly Eyeliner That Needs Improvement: Ardell
See the Eyeliner That Needs Improvement Entry.
Best Overall(Tie): Moxie Lash and Glamnetic
While the adage "you get what you pay for" doesn't always apply, in this case, it does. Saving your money for better quality is worth it in the case of the lashes and the liners. Glamnetic slightly inches out Moxie Lash in that they have a Build Your Own Bundle Deal in which the more items you purchase, the more you save.
That's it for the battle! If there are any other magnetic eyelash and liner brands you want me to check out, let me know in the comments section or email mewith your suggestions.
