I have had some of my friends suggest that I try Juvia's Place eye shadow palettes. They have a large variety of palettes and colors at an affordable price. Since I was in the market for an everyday Nude Palette, I figured I would pick this one up and see how it would perform, look and apply.

If the pictures of the swatches and my final look are any indication, I looked incredible! I was legitimately shook! Before we get into the nitty gritty, I want to introduce the colors of the palette. The shades don't have any names, but rather numbers:

Shade 1: A PEACHY METALLIC CHAMPAGNE WITH SILVER SHIMMER

Shade 2: A MATTE LIGHT BEIGE (this is the pressed pigment shade)

Shade 3: A METALLIC CHAMPAGNE WITH GOLD SHIMMER

Shade 4: A MATTE LIGHT ROSE

Shade 5: A METALLIC PINK CHAMPAGNE

Shade 6: A RICH MATTE TERRACOTTA BROWN

I do need to make a note about pressed pigments. While they are not approved by the FDA for eye use, they are approved for eye use in the EU. Since the EU is the most up to date when it comes to their regulations, I tend to go with the EU in terms of what is safe to wear for makeup, while the FDA Guidelines for Makeup Safety and use have not been updated in decades.

The shades are gorgeous and they swatch like butter. Even on a brush, they swatch wonderfully and smoothly. The shades are very versatile and work for all skin tones and are easy to blend. They are also a nice balance of mattes and shimmers. You can also see the distinction of colors in my makeup look.

The only issue I had with this palette was the kick up and glitter fallout. The kick up in all of the shades, but especially Shade 1 was quite noticeable as was the fallout from the shimmer. Since it is highly pigmented, you don't need a whole lot of it to get a color payoff. Ironically, I found that the weakest shade in the palette was actually the Pressed Pigment, Shade 2, but considering that some Urban Decay shades had much weaker color payoffs than this shade, I see it as a minor issue.

This palette is very beginner friendly and perfect for people who love nude color stories and/or want a light, everyday look to wear to work. Juvia's Place also has monochromatic palettes like this one called The Chocolates (which focus on browns and are also excellent for people who have deeper skin tones), The Violets (purple) and The Berries ( a nice balance of bright pinks and berry colors).

I will say that the packaging is gorgeous. The artwork is absolutely stunning and really fits the theme of the product. I will say that it doesn't have a mirror, but the artwork is fantastic.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with this palette since nude shades and I tend to have a love/hate relationship. Juvia's Palce has definitely fixed that relationship for me. At $14 for large pans, it's a really great deal!

I give this palette 9 nude shades out of 10.
